ENGAGE THE SENSES

SIGHT SMELL TOUCH TASTE SOUND

The garden is a planned extension of nature, a special place of peace and clarity. An effective, well planned and executed sensory garden can bring us into the present moment by stimulating our external senses. There is an incredible amount of research which proves how beneficial interaction and immersion in the natural environment can be.

Call us today to discuss how we can design and create a superb therapeutic sensory experience within your garden.

SALVATION ARMY - SENSORY GARDEN
_

The brief was to install a sensory garden at ‘Macquarie Lodge’ Aged care home in Sydney. The challenge was turning a tired bbq and sunny courtyard into a vibrant social and sensory space.

From design to installation our focus was stimulating the senses and creating a social space for residents, family, staff and guests.

We achieved this by choosing a variety of plants that offered bright colours, scent, bird attraction and taste. We even installed an aviary to enjoy the beautiful songs of some resident birds. The end result was magic.

SYDNEY CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL SENSORY GARDEN
_

Central Oak partnered with The Children’s Hospital at Westmead to create an immersive, engaging sensory garden for the children in the West Wing.

The large scale of the project combined with the dynamic elements of sensory engagement made the project an incredibly rewarding experience to be part of, and the end result is stunning.

The design incorporated bright colours, textures of murals and paint, a tactile chalkboard wall for creative expression and the garden is complete with fresh growing herbs and vegetables.
